It's Tuesday...and we need to talk!! :)

   Danielle is giving me the privileged of "guest blogging". I am not in any way as fabulous as she is, so bear with me!        

      The 2013 Floral Convention was last weekend in Hot Springs, AR. Florists from all over the state and surrounding states joined in as we "Celebrated America" for our 61st Annual Convention. Arkansas has the largest, and most elaborate banquets and meetings in the states. We hold 3 competitions: AR Scholarship, AR Cup and Mid-America Invitational. Scholarship had 8 competitors, Cup had 9 and Mid-America had 15 (from all across the US). There are multiple design shows, programs and 75 vendors that come for this all weekend event! This is a time for us to gain wonderful knowledge and ideas from all our floral peers and friends! It is really fun when lots of creative people gather in one place, you never know what you will see!

       On Saturday night there is the Presidents Banquet. This year the theme was "Celebrate America", and it was a red, white and blue infestation! Here are some pics showing you how us florists party!

           This is also our awards banquet. Mike and Lance competed in the AR Cup, and did a fabulous job!! Mike won 2nd Place. Krystle competed in the Scholarship and won first place!! She received a scholarship to attend the floral school of her choice!

We can not wait for next year as we celebrate "The Splendor of Christmas"
