Emily and Clayton: Lush Florals at Mt. Magazine

Please allow me to explain my complete adoration of this wedding. It's complicated. There's a lot of factors.

First: the bride. She's so fabulous, and just plain sweet that you want to cheer for her. Add to that a creative vision, and you've got a winner. Seriously, she's one of those people it's impossible to not like. And she's so gorgeous. Love that dress!

Second: the images. Grant Harrison knocked it out of the ballpark. I was not familiar with his work before this wedding, but he does such a great job (check him out here). A fabulous photographer is so important - the day ends, the food is eaten, the cake cut, the florals wilt - but your images last forever. Grant captured everything so beautifully that the day will never really be over.

Third: their love. I look at a lot of weddings, and I rarely get emotional. But that image of Emily teary-eyed saying their vows? Emotional city.  It reminds you what a wedding is really about. It's so clear to see how very much they love each other, and how real their connection is. And how much fun they are having together!

Fourth: Emily's vision. Dripping florals, lush purples, mercury glass, ornamental kale, eucalyptus, that FABULOUS arch, the coffee / cider bar before the ceremony, the Frasier Fir favors, ALL OF IT. It's pretty rare that a bride comes in with such a distinctive and gorgeous vision for us to bring to life. Funny story: Emily had this idea about ribbons cascading from her bouquet. Joe was not a fan. At all. He really did not want ribbons on her bouquet. And then when Lance built her bouquet, Joe held it up and said, "It needs the ribbons." She had the vision so clearly in her head, she could see the ribbons before Joe could! When she came in for the preview, and he showed her the ribbons, she was so excited!

Fifth: the florals. It's wonderful to get out of the box, try some weird stuff, go over the top, get floral fabulous. It was a ton of work, but it was so fun to explore.

All together - it was a pleasure working with you. Many, many happy returns. Thank you for letting us be part of your day.

Running into life together, hand in hand. <3

(See the ribbons? Emily was so right.)
(It's ok if you tear up right here. No judgment.)

Both moms are so beautiful and worked so hard to pull this wedding off!
